Could you help us replace our supplies?
The fire at Oundle Library in the summer destroyed all the catering supplies which had been purchased by the Friends over the years. Now we need to replace the items we lost and we’re wondering if you could help?
Vintage-style
We’ve decided it would be fun to use vintage-style crockery to serve our teas and coffees when we organise events in the library. Do you have any odds and ends of pretty china you could donate? We’re particularly looking for:
- Teacups and saucers
- Plates and cake plates
- Teapots
- Milk jugs
- Sugar bowls
In addition, we also need
- Cutlery (especially teaspoons and table knives)
- Table cloths
- Tea trays
- Water jugs
- Stackable glasses.
And mugs too…
For everyday events and activities the library also needs a good supply of coffee mugs – not least because, as a registered Warm Space, lots of people are visiting and having hot drinks. If you have any spare mugs you could donate, we’d be extremely grateful.
Kitchen equipment
We’re already in the process of replacing the catering equipment we lost in the fire, such as the catering-size electric kettle, thermos jugs, biscuit tins, storage crates, etc. and we don’t expect it to be long before we have everything we need in order to provide refreshments in the library again.
How to donate
If you have items you could give us, please either drop them at Oundle Library, or contact us and we’ll arrange to collect them from you.
If our appeal generates more items than we need or can store, our plan is to re-donate things to one of the town’s charity shops. But if you’d prefer to make other arrangements for your items, please just let us know and leave us your contact details so we can return them to you.
