Oundle Fairtrade/Eco Market
Like so many things this year, Oundle’s popular Fairtrade/Eco Market at St. Peter’s Church had to be cancelled. The organisers have always allowed Friends of Oundle Library to sell our calendars at the market and it’s always a lovely day, with lots of stalls selling amazing things.
But while we might not have been able to gather and enjoy the market in the usual way, the organisers have compiled a list of their stallholders so you can buy from them online. Details are on the St. Peter’s Church Facebook page (facebook.com/oundlestpeters) as well as on the church weekly e-newsletter.
A Fairtrade town
Oundle has been a Fairtrade town since 2007 and since then the market has been an annual event, selling fairly-traded goods from around the world. It later widened its scope to include mainly local eco-friendly producers, with stalls selling hand-made crafts, cards, flowers and food. Fairtrade refreshments and a raffle are other attractions.
We really missed being able to attend the Fairtrade/Eco Fair this year. But all is not lost, and if you’re looking for an unusual or beautiful Christmas gift why not take a look online? Here’s the link again: facebook.com/oundlestpeters
