Order a bag of books or browse …
As well as the Select & Collect service that has been operating for a while, Oundle Library now offers a limited browsing service for customers visiting the library; and longer appointments if you need to use the computers.
The opening hours remain Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 4pm, and on Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
Visits are limited to 15-minutes, which includes the time you need to check out your books. But there are lots of new books available to borrow and the staff have made sure these are well-displayed and easy to find so you can make the most of the time you have.
Appointments to browse
Because of social distancing, only one person at a time is allowed into the library to browse and to guarantee a time slot you should contact the library to book an appointment. Or you can take a chance and pop in to visit — but remember, pre-booked appointments will always be given priority. You’ll find the contact details you need at the bottom of this page.
The Select and Collect service is also still available. It takes a little more effort than just browsing the shelves but it’s easy to manage and the Oundle team is there to help you. To request a bag of books you’ll need to provide your library card number, name and postcode, and a telephone number.
Then tell the library the authors and books you enjoy reading and the staff will choose books for you. The more details you can give them, the better your selection will be. If you can, it’s worth checking the library catalogue to see if Oundle Library has some of the books you want. Otherwise enjoy a mystery bag of books which have been chosen with your reading preferences in mind!
The library will contact you when your books are ready to be collected.
Computer hire and printing also needs you to book an appointment. But you can now have a 45-minute time slot. Please remember that staff are only able to give limited help with these services because of the 2m rule.
Our Scenes Around Oundle 2021 calendar is on sale at Oundle Library (as well as at Colemans and the Oundle Book Shop). You can order calendars in advance, or ask for them at the door.
- To renew a bus pass, call the library on 0300 126 1000 option 6, option 1
