Have you ever wondered what the money raised by Friends of Oundle Library pays for? As Friends, we exist to support Oundle Library by raising awareness and funds, and we pay for things that will enhance the library and what it can offer. That might be anything from new furniture to having the carpets cleaned, or buying refreshments for events and plants for the garden. Here are some of the things the FOOL committee paid for in 2023.
Entertainers
Children’s entertainments, including two Magic Shows and a Circus Skills Workshop.
The garden
Garden equipment, pots, compost, plants, seeds, the professional pruning of the apple trees, and even a small greenhouse!
A trolley
A new, special trolley for storing and using craft materials.
Furniture
A new table and a set of chairs for the Children’s Library.
Craft materials and supplies
Stationery and supplies such as card, glue and glitter, plus a set of special craft storage jars.
A notice board
A new notice board for the Activity Room.
Refreshments and prizes
Refreshments for all sorts of library and FOOL events, and prizes for competitions.
Picture frames
A set of picture frames for the Activity Room, so artwork produced in the library can be displayed.
Annual costs
The garden waste recycling service for Oundle Library, and the window cleaning contract.
