OUNDLE LIBRARY
A Warm Welcome Space
Oundle Library has always been a warm and welcoming place to visit, and it’s also a registered Warm Welcome Space for anyone who is struggling to heat their home this winter.
A Warm Space
All of us are experiencing first-hand the effects of rising prices and the cost of keeping our homes warm. For many, keeping warm can be a real challenge, especially people with disabilities, the elderly, and low-income households. And that’s where Oundle Library and other local Warm Welcome Spaces can make a real difference.
Obviously Oundle Library is a wonderful place to find and read books, search for information or use the free WiFi. But in the winter months why not also enjoy…
- Free hot drinks
Tea, coffee and easy-to-prepare soups will be available on a self-serve basis during opening hours, and biscuits too. - Board games and more
You don’t have to wait for a timetabled event. The library’s board games, jigsaws and other activities are available for you to use when you want, as well as children’s toys. Meet your friends there and see what’s available. - Signposting and information
Help with finding services and support which might be available, as well as advice sessions with partner organisations.
Try a group
Each week the library runs different events for every age group, from Storytime & Crafts sessions for the Under 5’s to Scrabble for adults. There’s also a crime fiction book group, a knitting group and a weekly French Language Café. Why not give something a try?
What’s On and when
Each month the library publishes a What’s On timetable, which tells you all the activities that are planned. You can pick up a printed copy at the library desk or download a copy here.
Oundle Library is always looking for new things to offer, so watch for updates and announcements. Facebook is a good place to find up-to-date information and both the Friends and the library itself have pages you can check:
- Oundle Library: https://www.facebook.com/oundlelibrary
- Friends of Oundle Library: https://www.facebook.com/OundleLibraryFriends/
And we’ll keep this page updated too, so come back and check it from time to time.
