Friends of Oundle Library
If you love having a library in Oundle, why not be a Friend?
Why be a Friend?
- It’s free!
- You’ll receive our newsletter, which is a great way to keep in touch with what’s happening at Oundle Library.
- We represent library customers and make sure their views are heard.
- A strong Friends group is a powerful demonstration that Oundle loves its library and will fight to protect it.

Our newsletter
When you join us you’ll receive our newsletter. It’s one of the best ways to find out what’s happening at Oundle Library and hear what’s being planned.
Often, you’ll get advance notice of events and activities, which can be particularly useful if these are popular, such as Harry Potter Book Night.
Could you lend a hand?
Very occasionally, could you lend us a hand? We sometimes need a few extra hands to assist us. For example, to help with refreshments when we organise an event at the library.
There’s no formal commitment involved and you would decide if you could help, or not. But it’s lovely to have a list of people to contact if we need to.
If you’d be happy to go on our Lend a Hand List, please let us know.

Volunteer
Volunteers make our library tick! For example, we have volunteers who run groups and activities, such as Scrabble, Spin a Yarn and the French Language Café. There are volunteers who help by shelving books and delivering books to people who are housebound. And volunteers who tend the library garden to keep it looking lovely.
The best thing about volunteering is that you only have to give as much time as you can manage. Could you start a new group at the library? Or maybe you’d just like to help with some of the things that already happen there? Whatever you do, your contribution will be valued and we’re pretty sure you’ll make new friends too.
If you’d like to volunteer, chat to a member of staff at Oundle Library when you next visit, or send a message below.
