Oundle Library is a donation drop-off for the Northants charity, Baby Basics, which supports vulnerable mums-to-be by providing all sorts of essential items for themselves and their baby.
About Baby Basics
Baby Basics Northampton is the local branch of a national charity which provides much needed essentials and equipment to mothers and families who are unable to provide these items for themselves. For example, teenage mums, women fleeing domestic abuse and trafficking, and people seeking asylum.
The first Baby Basics was set up in 2009 in Sheffield by the city’s Lead Midwife and Kings Centre Church. It started as a clothing bank and a place where local midwives and health visitors could request baby equipment and essential toiletries for their clients.
Baby Basics Northampton
In Northamptonshire, Baby Basics works with local midwives, health visitors and other professionals to provide Starter Packs for new mums that contain all sorts of supplies, from nappies and baby clothing to essential equipment and toiletries. There are lists of the items they need shown at the bottom of this page.
Every item the charity gives away has been donated by someone in the local community, whether it is clothing their children have outgrown, baby equipment that’s no longer needed, or just a new bottle of baby shampoo.
How to donate
Baby Basics make regular collections from Oundle Library and you can drop your donations there when the library is open during school term time. You’ll find the donation box near the garden door.

Saturdays – 10.00am to 2.00pm
