Scenes Around Oundle 2026 calendar
The 2026 Scenes Around Oundle calendar produced by the Friends of Oundle Library is now on sale.
We’ve been producing the calendar every year since 2013 and it’s an essential part of our fundraising, which enables us to provide additional support to Oundle Library during the year. Over the years the calendar has become a fixture on many people’s Christmas lists, often to send as a gift to friends and family.
It really does help
It’s thanks to all the local businesses who sponsor pages in the calendar that every penny of the money we raise from sales can fund all sorts of ‘extras’ at Oundle Library. For example, in 2025 the Friends of Oundle Library have funded various library purchases, including replacing items lost in the fire of July 2024. And generally the calendar helped us to pay for all sorts of things, from craft materials and school holiday activities, events and entertainers, to funding an annual budget for our gardening volunteers and giving the outside seating area a makeover with some new furniture. We also partnered with Oundle Festival of Literature and hosted other local groups and individuals to offer interesting talks and events at the library. Without the calendar none of this could have been done.
Amazing photography
The photographs in the calendar have been taken by members of Oundle U3A’s Photography and Composition group. All of them are talented and enthusiastic amateur photographers who take pictures of our town and its surrounding countryside all year round.
As Friends of Oundle Library we’re committed to helping our library thrive. A public library is a wonderful community asset – somewhere you can borrow books, attend groups and activities, use the internet, and renew bus passes and Blue Badges. And in Oundle, it’s even a place where (in warm weather!) you can just sit and enjoy the garden. Oundle Library serves a large area of North Northamptonshire, with regular customers travelling in from villages as far afield as Easton-on-the-Hill and Luddington-in-the-Brook, so it’s fitting that our calendar tries to capture some of this in its pictures of local landscapes, landmarks, architecture and wildlife.
